Item 4 - Country and Regional Reports.

Jabiru would like to see these resumed. They could be done by email to the group and should be "Good news style stories". No need for a report if there is nothing to say.

Clean up of Channels.

There are lots of unused unregistered channels. Ellie will take that on and email to see if channels still needed. If channel not used then we would need a good supportive reason to keep it.

Asia Pacific Region Air-Internet jamboree.

•  Event needs to be promoted in all Countries participating.
• Main channels used will be #English and #Chinese.
• Need cover from Friday evening to Sunday evening - just like JOTI.
• If Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia pick it up we will be very busy and need to make sure we have ops on hand.

Document Team Update.

Clauses 1to 3 are completed. Cause 4 is being worked upon. Roger-uk will circulate to council and we can deal by email.

2.The idea basically protect hostname users (but still unique) give chanops a special mode this can be used for the following let them see the hostname as it really is. (properly with user host only then bans can be placed on the faked hostname) give them limited access to wallops (with a warning) give them access to samode (with a warning).

3.Modifying the current ircd. (so not about the new one I am already working on ) with adding a new mode so that chanops are inimini ircopers and then give everyone a fake host and let chanops and higher see there real mode. Not tested etc.

Both 2 and 3 to be left with tech team who will report back at next meeting. Ellie will also let Council have a brief simple report as to what Tech Team are working on.

Safety Project Update.

Ellie reminded everyone that proposal 1 and 2 would be implemented after JOTI. The neon technical stuff will need to be written into the Document - this will need to be implemented by the Doc Team.

Ellie and Roger reminded Council that the sooner we had feedback the sooner we could get it done. jabiru will proof read for legalese etc.

Meeting Times.

This is an Old chestnut. We should conduct as much business as possible in email lists and keep the meetings online shorter. With representation from all over the world there never is a good time to hold meetings.

Council members should be reminded that they have an obligation to attend or send a deputy. The meetings are only once per month.

  • OZANZ was good - 7 attended but even with low numbers everyone had a great time.
  • Australian Scoutlink Fellowship is progressing and will allow Scout linkers who no longer hold a warrant to be members.
  • Jabiru has been made a Commissioner for Western Australia for Internet, radio, Communications, JOTI, JOTA etc.
