County Co-ordinator
Biff is going to resign as USA Country Coordinator. He nominated Nerilka ( Amanda Owen ) as USA Country Coordinator. He talked to her time ago and she agrees with to accept the position. The council agreed with this choice and so Amanda Owen was nominated the new Country Coordinator for
Rules sub committee.
Jabiru advised the Council that Rikki ( Wanda Duczmal ) resigned as Coordinator of the Rules Commitee.
The Council nominated Jabiru as Coordinator of this Commitee comprising Mike_uk, Koolyn, Coxwain and Biff like members of that. Others will be invites to assist.
The commitee will base its work on several documents that help to manage the undernet irc network. Jabiru & the committee will prepare these rules and then the Council will raitify them.
An Important decision that was taken in this way was that The Commitee will write the Rules only for Global Network and will leave the languages (channel) teams to organize their own channel rules.
Channels of communication – Mailing Lists
The council decided to try a simplified communication system:
#1 To keep the Scoutlink “TheTeam” Mailing List. This list will comprise all Chanops, Ircops and Coutnry Coordinators
#2 To keep the Ircops Mailing List for communication between ircops on matters concerning them.
#3 To close the chanops mailing list on egroups;
#4 to freeze the Scoutlink Mailing List on egroups untill the doc will be approved;
#5 that the TT will have its own Mailing list
Council’s expectations of each country Co-ordinator
Country Coordinators wil be expected to make contact with their own Country Scout and Guide Associations to promote Scoutlink. There will be ongoing discussion about the CC’s role.
Making more use of chanops
The Council wants to encourage chanops to be more active: they sometimes stand back if they know that there are Ircops around. The council would like to see Chanops sorting problems; in other words it is true that Ircops tell Chanops how to do but it is reccomended to let them sort problems in the channels.
The next Council meeting will be fixed for Saturday January 2001, the 13th at
All Scoutlink users are encouraged to provide feedback, information and suggestions through their Country Coordinator.
